Echinococcus IgG ELISA Kit
The Echinococcus IgG ELISA Kit is an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) designed for the qualitative detection of IgG antibodies specific to Echinococcus species in human serum or plasma. Echinococcosis, caused by cestodes of the Echinococcus genus, is a zoonotic disease primarily transmitted through ingestion of food or water contaminated with infected animal feces. Humans, acting as intermediate hosts, develop cystic hydatid disease (CHD) and alveolar hydatid disease (AHD), forming hydatid cysts predominantly in the liver, lungs, or other organs. Liver cysts typically trigger stronger antibody responses compared to lung cysts.
This kit uses microplates coated with crude Echinococcus antigens. During testing, IgG antibodies in the patient’s serum bind to the antigens. Enzyme conjugate and chromogen (TMB) are subsequently added, producing a color change proportional to the antibody concentration. The test results can be read visually or measured using an ELISA reader for accurate absorbance values.
The kit provides prediluted positive and negative controls, ensuring assay standardization and reliability. It is a highly sensitive and specific tool suitable for clinical diagnosis, epidemiological screening, and scientific research.
